Meet the Artists
Alex Jyn-Li Cairns

Alex Jyn-Li Cairns (she/her) is a producer, director, host and voice over actor based out of Toronto with a BFA in Theatre from York University and a Diploma in Broadcasting from Durham College. Currently a producer for TSN’s The Shift with Kayla Grey and the In-Arena Host for the Toronto Marlies, she loves working in the sports space, telling meaningful stories and engaging with community. Alex is half Chinese and is proud to represent the mixed-race voice in the industries she works in. She is passionate about amplifying BIPOC and LGQTQ2S+ voices and hopes to continue to share her love of storytelling with the students at York.
Ayokunmi Oladesu

Ayokunmi is stoked to return to VCP for her fourth (and final) year. She currently studies film prodcution and is the Production Manager for the season! Art has been her lifelong passion in all of it's avenues and she's excited to push herself into new challenges. She's excited to be part of the company's production of The Wolves, she'll be taking on (for the first time) lighting design for the Dance Collective and will be showing her visually artistic side in the BIPOC Artist Hub!
Brandi Chen

Brandi is in their first year of visual arts and concurrent edicational studies. They love singing, drawing and exploring new mediums to make art. They hope to showcase their creativity to anyone who's interested!
Cale Simpson

Cale is a third year English student. This is his first time in the BIPOC Art Hub and he’s very excited to be sharing and creating with other like minded artists in a safe and welcoming environment.
Isabella Almeida

Isabella is a second year biomedical sciences student. She has a penchant for both visual and performing arts. She enjoyed drawing from a young age as well as singing, dancing and acting. She loves musical theatre, cartoons, manga and various other forms of creative media.
Kaori Lim

Kaori is a 3rd year Psychology student and this is her third year at VCP. She loves sharing her passion for singing and performing. She has been a part of a number of VCP productions both on and off stage. She is also very excited to be part of the Kinky Boots cast and crew for a number of productions this year.
Kyle Yu

Kyle Yu is a third-year Film Production student. He has a strong passion for filmmaking and performing. He has been activally involved in the past two years of VCP as a member in Show Choir, Dance Collective, Ricky in For Show and Twig from bring it on. As the work piles on for his third and forth year he couldn't commit to a long running musical nor a show this year. He decided to join the BIPOC Artist hub as it was the only way to be involved in VCP this year.
Malcolm Hinds

Malcolm is in his final year of Law and Society; next year he begins his Education degree at York. He has been part of VCP's improv company. He loves drawing in pencils, inks, and sometimes markers. He hopes to grow as an artist and bring entertainment to all.
Nat Wilkinson

Nat is in her third year of Gender & Women's Studies and Concurrent Education. She loves drawing, singing, dancing and writing. She is also a part of VCP's Dance Collective.
N.D. Jia

N.D. Jia is a third-year student in Digital Media Game Arts, and the current designer of the BIPOC Artist Hub website. They are a creator and enthusiast of interactive new media art, software-as-poetry, and both analogue and digital games. N.D. Jia's game art can be viewed at https://ndjia.itch.io.
Noel Pham

Noel is in their second year of theatre in Performance Creation. He is very excited to participate in VCP for the second time this year. He is a cast member in Show Choir, the board operator for Kinky Boots, and an artist in the BIPOC Artist Hub.
Sophia Efere

Sophia is a first-year sociology major who loves to write poetry and take photos. She uses poetry as form of self-expression and loves to indulge herself into new artistic elements. Her hobbies are watching horror movies, making new friends, and listening to music.
Tiara Tirei

Tiara is a third-year Communications & Media Studies student minoring in Cinema and Media Studies. This is her third consecutive year in BIPOC Hub and she is excited to keep the streak going! Her interactive works have created and held much excitement within everyone who chooses to participate in them.
Tina Goli

A recurring member of the BIPOC Arthub, Tina loves bringing her ideas to bloom and flourish. They like to invoke creativity and imagination not only for themselves but others as well. Her hobbies include, making up worlds / stories / characters, hanging with friends, exploring and trying new interests, listening to music and eating food!
Tobi Omooba

Tobi is a third-year criminology student in his second year at VCP. Last year he graced the stage as Cameron in Bring It On: The Musical. Though he will not be returning to the VCP stage, he has curated an experience for those attending BIPOC Hub, Read the walls and find out more about the world he has created.
